Food security strategy will be discussed in Nur-Sultan

The capital of Kazakhstan will host the fourth General Assembly of the Islamic Organization for Food Security on September 8-9, 2021.

According to the agricultural office, the event will be held in an online format with the declared theme: "The food systems of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the post-pandemic world.

The event will be attended by Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs, as well as ministers, deputy ministers of OIC member and observer countries, the first heads of OIC institutions and other international organizations and delegates of member countries responsible for food security issues.

The agenda includes the accession of new countries to the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), approval of financial statements 2020, progress on the implementation of the IOFS strategic programs adopted earlier and on the implementation of resolutions of the 2nd and 3rd meetings of the General Assembly, institutional and administrative issues. Of particular importance is the presentation and discussion of the 10-year strategy of the IOFS until 2031.

To recall, the Islamic Organization for Food Security - a specialized institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which has an independent international legal personality as a full-fledged international organization with its headquarters in the city of Nur-Sultan.
