In what volumes are foreign vegetables imported?

In January-February this year, imports of almost all types of vegetables increased by 29% to 64.1 thousand tons, World of NAN reports with reference to LS.

In annual dynamics, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China became the main suppliers of onions and garlic - 210.7 thousand tons (-3.1%). Which is quite strange, given the difficulties in selling onions by Zhambyl farmers.

Tomatoes in the volume of 55.8 thousand tons (-18.5%) were brought from neighboring countries. From Uzbekistan - 11.6 thousand tons (-2.9%), Turkmenistan - 35.5 thousand tons (+13.8%) and China - 5.1 thousand tons (+5.7 times).

Cabbage of all kinds was also imported 2.2 times less (53.2 thousand tons). It was purchased in Uzbekistan - 46.9 thousand tons (-2.2 times) and China - 2 thousand tons (+twice).

Asparagus, eggplants and peppers were imported by 6.5% less - 51.4 thousand tons. The importing countries are Uzbekistan - 19.8 thousand tons (+3.8%), China - 16 thousand tons (+1.5 times) and Iran - 7.4 thousand tons (-2.4 times).

The amount of foreign carrots, beets and radish on the market also decreased 1.5 times, to 48.4 thousand tons. These vegetables were imported from Uzbekistan - 35.3 thousand tons (-38.3%) and Russia - 11.2 thousand tons (+23.6%).

On the contrary, there was a noticeable increase in potato shipments - by 3.7%, up to 54.9 thousand tons. It was mainly purchased in Russia - 41.4 thousand tons (+2.3 times), Pakistan - 4.9 thousand tons (-5.6 times) and the Netherlands - 774.8 tons (+1.7 times).

Cucumbers in Kazakhstan were also imported more - by 12.8% (16 thousand tons), from Uzbekistan, Iran and China.
