Foreign farmers will share experience with their Kazakh colleagues

Last year's drought in Kazakhstan reduced grain yields by 20%. Forecasts for the current year are also bleak. Domestic agrarians should think about finding new solutions for successful crop production. The International Agricultural and Food Association DLG together with World of NAN can help find this solution. 

DLG is the world's leading agribusiness association. Kazakhstan horticulturists know it as the organizer of the largest exhibition of agricultural machinery Agritechnica. DLG is also engaged in a transfer of knowledge. With a wide network of contacts around the world, the association constantly holds meetings and workshops with international experts. This year the organization became interested in the experience of Kazakh farmers. Together with the World of NAN, the association is organizing an online roundtable on "Water Management in Agriculture - Best Practices of Kazakh and Foreign Agricultural Producers".

At the event, farmers from Kazakhstan will share their practical knowledge on water management. Farmers from Canada, Australia and other countries will also share their experience. Special attention will be paid to methods of WATER RETENTION, for example through the introduction of adapted crop rotations, no-till technology, stubble retention in the field; WATER APPLICATION, for example through use of irrigation systems, snow retention; WATER CONSERVATION, for example through special soil treatment and crop management; EFFECTIVE USE OF WATER, for example through adapted varieties, special equipment, economical irrigation technologies, changing the sowing dates, etc.
