Karaganda region has implemented 15 investment projects in the agro-industrial complex

Karaganda region ranks third in the country by investment activity in the agricultural sector. In 2021 15 projects worth 11.1 billion tenge were realized, reports World of NAN referring to oblakimat.

The results achieved and plans for the future were presented at an online meeting.

" Two projects were implemented in livestock farming, 7 projects in plant growing, 6 projects in processing industry. This year 5 287 jobs were created in the agricultural sector. Due to implementation of projects next year we expect increase of gross production in agriculture and processing by 15 bln tenge", - head of agriculture department Askar Sanaubarov said.

For instance, a breeding reproducer was built in Nurinskiy district, a poultry farm was modernized in Abay district. Greenhouse complex was built in Satpayev. New grain and vegetable storage facilities were put into operation. Irrigated lands in the region are being rehabilitated. Meat and milk processing and pasta production projects are also implemented.

According to the speaker, 17 investment projects worth 20 bln tenge are planned to be realized in agricultural sector in 2022. Most of them are aimed at the development of cattle breeding.

By 2025 it is planned to build a large meat processing plant, a sheep mega farm, a plant for production of pelleted fodder, and implementation of several large projects.

"The road map of investment projects in the agricultural sector for 2021-2025 has been worked out in the region. It includes 59 projects for 370 billion tenge, with creation of about 6 thousand new jobs. It is necessary to work with investors. Our region has an advantage in the proximity of the capital city. This ensures a market for agricultural products. There is great demand within the region as well", - said Akim of the region Zhenis Kasymbek.
