Hay fires are becoming more frequent in Kazakhstan

This was announced by the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations. The editorial board of World of NAN would like to remind farmers of the rules for preserving their forage harvest.

Hay fires have mostly been recorded in private farmsteads, since forage is often stored near residential buildings, baths or outbuildings. Farmers, of course, store forage differently, but they should also remember the safe conditions for storing hay.

So, the area for placing stacks must be plowed along the perimeter with a strip at least 4 meters wide. The distance from the edge of the plowed strip to the stack (haystack) located on the site must be at least 15 meters, and to a separate stack (haystack) - at least 5 meters.

The base area of one stack (haystack) should not exceed 150 square meters, and a stack of pressed hay (straw) - 500 square meters. Fire distances between individual stacks, sheds and ricks (haystacks) must be at least 20 meters.

Fire distances between blocks of stacks and haystacks (no more than 20 units are allowed in a block) must be at least 100 meters.

Stacks (haystacks), sheds and piles of roughage are placed at a distance of at least 15 meters from the axis of communication lines; at a distance of at least 50 meters from buildings, structures and forest plantations; outside the right-of-way and security zones of railways, roadside strips of highways and security zones of overhead power lines.

Remember, you will not lose anything from fire prevention, but you can lose everything if you do not comply with fire safety rules.
