Sugar producer asks to raise investment subsidies

The Koksu sugar factory in Zhetysu oblast needs modernisation. This problem was voiced by the head of the enterprise, World of NAN reports with reference to 24.kz.

The 90-year-old enterprise has undergone two stages of modernisation of its production process. Thanks to this, its capacity has increased from 1600 tonnes of raw material processing per day to 2000 thousand.

However, for the enterprise to become more competitive, transformations are needed. In particular, investment is needed to purchase modern equipment and help with the sale of finished products.

‘Of course, I would like to see investment subsidies raised to 50 per cent. Then we can fearlessly start reconstruction of the plant, which will increase productivity, increase production costs and reduce the shelf life of sugar beet,’ said plant director Altynbek Abatov.
