"In the region there are three organizations that supply water for irrigation to agricultural producers - RSE "Kazvodkhoz", Canal named after K. Satpayev Canal and SPK Krasnaya Polyana. In addition, SE "Karagandy su koiymalary" is working on the issue of irrigation water supply to irrigated lands. For effective accounting of flow and water distribution of RSE "Kazvodkhoz" introduced digital technologies. Eleven posts with GSM-modems have been installed," said Nurbek Serikov, head of the Department of Natural Resources and Regulation of Natural Resources.

According to him, there are plans to modernize the system of water accounting. In addition, this year Saranskoye and Shalginskoye reservoirs and Manaka dam will be overhauled. It is also planned to implement five projects on sanitation of Nura, Solonki and Akbastau rivers.

According to the head of the department, a feasibility study for construction of three new reservoirs in the region is being developed. In 2023-2024 the region plans to reconstruct 73 km of irrigation canals under the national project "Green Kazakhstan".

These projects are aimed at expanding irrigated agriculture.

Head of the Department of Agriculture Askar Sanaubarov told about technologies that save irrigation water. Agricultural enterprises buy modern sprinkler systems. The state subsidizes half of the cost of equipment. In addition, subsidies are paid to deliver irrigation water.

"Reconstruction of existing reservoirs will provide additional volumes of irrigation water. It is necessary to preserve the current water balance as much as possible by reducing losses during regular irrigation", - noted the provincial akim Zhenis Kasymbek.
