48 projects in the agricultural sector will be implemented in Akmola region until 2025

Within three years, Akmola region plans to implement 48 investment projects in the agricultural sector worth 265.9 billion tenge, World of NAN reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

During his work visit to the region, Yerbol Karashukeyev, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture, spoke about the plans and the current state of the agricultural sector.

He noted that because of the measures provided by the Government, the region shows positive results in the agricultural sector.

According to the Minister, over the past three years the area of oil-bearing crops in the region increased by 61.4 thousand hectares and amounted last year to 271.2 thousand hectares. In 2021, the region purchased 2,187 units of agricultural machinery, which is 15% more than in 2019, put into operation 14 dairy-commodity farms, 2 fattening sites.

"In Akmola region it is planned to implement 48 investment projects in the agro-industrial complex worth 265.9 billion tenge until 2025, as well as to bring up engineering and communication infrastructure for their implementation. Implementation of investment projects will allow us to compensate for the shortage of agricultural products in the off-season and stabilize prices in the regional and capital markets, as well as create about 2,500 jobs", - said Y. Karashukeyev.

However, he reminded that one of the priority tasks for today is the timely and quality sowing campaign in the optimal agricultural terms.

72 thousand tons of fuel and lubricants are provided for Akmola region to carry out spring field work. It is 2 thousand more than last year, at a price 12-15% below the market.

This year the forecast sowing area in the region is about 5.1 million hectares. About 41 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers have already been shipped to regional agricultural producers and 3.2 billion tenge have been allocated to subsidize them in the local budget. For subsidizing seed production from the local budget 789 million tenge was allocated.

"This year unprecedented measures of state support will be provided. This will increase the sustainability of the development of agriculture of the Republic and including Akmola region", - summarized Yerbol Karashukeyev.
