Majilis deputy Aidarbek Khodzhanazarov has criticised officials' additions to agricultural statistics, reports World of NAN.
"Did you know that according to statistics, every day every Kazakh citizen, including infants, needs to consume half a kilo of potatoes? And this is several times more than in Belarus, the world leader in consumption of the product," the MP emphasised.
According to the data of industry unions, imputations on grain production reach up to 3 million tonnes. Also, discrepancies in the number of livestock in some regions reach 40%.
"Who needs such false information? Don't inflated figures destroy the agricultural industry?" said Aidarbek Khodzhanazarov.
In his opinion, akimats at all levels and central agencies have learnt to give false information. Agencies independently change the indicators of individual farms and embellish statistics. This negatively affects the development of agriculture, as the authorities simply do not see the real picture.
