Agrarians of the Dnepropetrovsk region harvested a record crop

As of October 25, 4 million tons of grain crops were threshed in all categories of farms in the Dnepropetrovsk region, which is a record for the region since independence of Ukraine, reported the press service of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

Farmers in the region collected more than 2.7 million tons of early grains, in particular wheat and barley, as well as more than 11 thousand tons of millet, more than 1.2 million tons of corn for grain.

«This year the weather was favourable to the farmers - the winter was mild. In addition, they constantly monitor modern technologies, update equipment and use new varieties of seeds. All these things gave a result», said the acting Head of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Ivan Gordiyenko.

It is specified that remains to harvest corn by 14% of the projected areas, sunflower by 3% by the reporting date in the region.
