Americans are ready to export vegetables from Kazakhstan

An American company is ready to invest in the development of agriculture in Kazakhstan, World of NAN reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev met with Jonathan Buring, Vice President of Champion Foods.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation, investment and development of agriculture in Kazakhstan, held detailed talks and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the American company.

The company is ready to organize export of frozen potatoes and other vegetable products from Kazakhstan, and is also interested in investing in projects of building factories for advanced processing of agricultural products in Kazakhstan. The total investment is estimated to be at $100,000,000.

Champion Foods is the largest food trader in the United States, and is also involved in food production. For over 25 years, it has been the number one supplier to caterers, retailers, industrial businesses, bakeries, offshore catering companies, ship chandlers and cruise companies. The company provides sugar, frozen vegetables, rice, beans, corn, breadsticks, pizza and other products.
