Atlantic salmon will be grown in Kazakhstan

Akim of the Zhetysu region B.Isabayev visited the Panfilovsky district on a business trip. He got acquainted with the work of the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation, World of NAN reports with reference to the press service of the head of the region.

Akim learned that the work of the center has not yet been fully organized. To date, out of 12 planned projects, only 3 have been implemented. The facility has suspended its operations in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, to intensify the work of the Khorgos ICBC, a number of investment projects are expected to be implemented.

The head of the region also visited the special economic zone "Khorgos - Eastern Gate". A unique dry port operates here, which is distinguished by a high container turnover. Over the past 6 months, the volume of transshipment of containers amounted to over 4.2 billion tenge.

As noted, at this stage, many willing investors are ready to invest in the special economic zone. The total cost of the projects amounted to 500 billion tenge, 28 participants were registered, 18 land plots were allocated. Among them are new productions. Including a recently launched enterprise producing up to 60,000 tons of animal feed per year. 4.7 billion tenge was invested in the project.

In addition, new projects implemented in the special economic zone were presented to the regional Akim. As it became known, in the future an international industrial city in this territory, where 5 thousand people will be employed is planned to be build.

A plant for growing Atlantic salmon worth 17 billion tenge is expected to be launched. The enterprise will produce 2.5 thousand tons of products per year.
