The construction of a plant for the production of biofuel from flax straw has begun in Akmola region. The enterprise will be equipped with modern equipment. The cost of the unique project for the region is about five billion tenge, the World of NAN reports referring to the "Khabar 24".
The idea to start a plant for the production of cheap and in demand on export markets biofuel originated three years ago. After numerous tests and export of 20 thousand tons of industrial samples abroad, a private company started the construction of the facility.
It will be located in Zerenda district, a dozen kilometers from the regional center, where the capsule was laid. "We are planning to launch the plant in November this year. The capacity of the plant is 70 thousand tons of finished products a year. The products are export-oriented, there are already export supply memorandums signed with Denmark, Germany, England, recently applications have even come from Japan", - said Ayagoz Abdrakhmanova, project manager.
Foreign partners from Germany, who provide their technology and equipment, are also a great help in the project. As they noted, producing fuel from flax straw and using it will improve the environmental situation.
"This is an example of how to process raw materials that are not used anywhere else into a valuable product. Not only straw, but all types of biomass can be processed here, because such technology is rarely used anywhere else," says Joachim Bermann, foreign partner.
Incidentally, since the beginning of the year the region has attracted more than 180 billion tenge of investment, almost 70% of which were private. This project is one of the largest investments in the region's economy.
