A businessman from Thailand wants to process fish in Kazakhstan

The Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov held talks with the President of the Thai company “Sea Value Plc.” Dr. Poja Aramwattananonta, World of NAN reports with reference to Kazakh Invest.

The parties discussed the implementation of the construction of a plant for the production of canned, processed fish products, frozen semi-finished products in Kazakhstan. It is expected that raw materials for production will be supplied by local fish farms, and finished products will be exported to Thailand and other countries.

Preliminary, the investment amount will be $6 million, and the production capacity will be 3-5 tons of fish products per day. In the future, the company plans to expand the range of products manufactured in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the moment, Sea Value is looking for a land plot.

Sea Value is the second largest producer of canned tuna in Thailand, and its products are exported to 150 countries. The company also has a processing plant in France and a subsidiary in the Netherlands. In 2023, the company's revenue was $847 million.
