British sheep farmers are ready to share genetics with Kazakhstan

An international sheep breeding exhibition was held in the English town of Malvern, in which Kazakh farmers took part, World of NAN reports with reference to inform.kz.

"The UK has wonderful breeds in terms of genetics. We bring them to Kazakhstan to improve the quality of our meat. The British love sheep very much. They raise them like their own children. They have a different psychology. We should learn from this," said Zhanat Kasenov, a scientist at the K. Medeubekov Institute of Sheep Breeding.

British shepherds have been breeding sheep since the time of the Roman Empire. There are about 30 million sheep and lambs in the country. Kazakhstan has 24 million sheep, but there are all the conditions for a multiple increase in the population. British technology and genetics can help with this.

"We have been cooperating with Kazakhstan for some time now. I know that you have a high interest in sheep genetics. "We are ready to help in any way we can. We want to not only sell semen from breeding ewes, but also provide additional information," said Phil Stoker, chief executive of the National Sheep Association.
