Deputy: the interests of a group of latifundists are higher than the interests of the people

Majilis deputy Askhat Rakhimzhanov raised a problematic issue concerning agricultural land. According to him, thousands of shareholders are ready for radical measures because of the actions of farmers, World of NAN reports.

According to the statistics of the General Prosecutor's Office, there are 81 thousand shareholders and 169 problematic enterprises in Kazakhstan, which are in charge of 4.1 million hectares of agricultural land. Of these, 860 thousand hectares are illegally pledged in the bank. Currently in the country more than 15 thousand shareholders can not receive dividends and withdraw from the enterprise.

"We receive a lot of complaints, especially difficult situation in North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions. Everywhere we see the same picture. Shareholders remain without their shares and do not receive dividends, there is a violation of the law," - said the MP.

He wondered under what conditions the so-called investors conduct economic activities? And why do farmers continue to mortgage the land of shareholders to obtain loans? Some LLPs have loans up to a dozen billion tenge, and in different banks.

"We are increasingly hearing from people that they are ready for more radical measures, threatening to block the road to prevent the sowing season. They are threatening rallies. We all see that social tension is growing. And the silence of the Ministry of Agriculture is incomprehensible. And the fed-up akimats refer to the lack of funds in the budget and take the side of businessmen. This problem has existed for many years. Are the interests of a small group of latifundists above the interests of the people," the MP said.

He called on the state bodies to unite and solve the problem before it leads to unfortunate consequences.
