Deputy: regulations for the use of irrigation canals must be developed

In Kazakhstan, regulations on the use of irrigation canals by farmers need to be approved. This statement was made by the deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Zhanbolat Zhorgenbayev, reports World of NAN with reference to inform.kz.

"For the effective use of irrigation water it is important to work out the issue of appointing a single operator. In addition, the preparation of design and estimate documentation for the construction of a dam on the Ili River in Balkhash district should be finalized as soon as possible. In this regard, for two or more land users located on the same irrigation canal, it is necessary to approve the rules defining the procedure for the use of the irrigation canal," the deputy said.

In addition, according to the senator, a number of changes should be made to the roadmap for ensuring efficient water use in agriculture for 2023-2026.

"It is necessary to develop and approve the budget program classifier code that allows direct transfer of budget funds to the account of the economic entity making repairs by economic method. To develop draft rules and norms of crop irrigation in percentage ratio taking into account the terrain, soil, water and to improve on their basis the creation of tariff for the use of water resources", - summarized the senator.
