Two criminal cases were initiated because of grey grain imports

In North Kazakhstan Oblast, employees of the Department of Economic Investigations have uncovered a scheme to import Russian grain under the guise of Kazakh grain, World of NAN reports with reference to inform.kz.

The department formed risky agricultural producers, in whose activities violations were established as a result of settlements with affiliated companies. 

‘Groups of persons have been detected writing fictitious invoices for Russian grain, giving it the status of domestic grain. A verdict has been passed in one case, two criminal cases have been sent to court. Fictitious invoices were issued for imported Russian grain in the amount of more than 30,000 tonnes. Measures have been taken to cancel transactions worth more than KZT1 billion,’ said Bakytzhan Abulkhairov, head of the agency.

A working group has been set up together with interested bodies. Amendments to the legislation regulating the issue of obtaining documents confirming the origin of goods have been initiated.
