Y.Karashukeyev to visit PRC to discuss exports of Kazakhstani meat

In an interview with Tengrinews, the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Serik Zhumangarin, spoke about inflation in the country, fuel prices, and export plans. According to him, one of the most important tasks in trade is the access of Kazakh meat producers to the markets of China and Russia. And to solve this issue, the Minister of Agriculture of the country will personally go to China very soon, S. Zhumangarin said.

"Our task is to get China to provide access to exports of Kazakhstani products. First of all, vegetable and meat products. The priority, of course, is meat. Because the development of the meat industry itself depends on exports, which is a pulling factor, "- said the Minister of Trade.

In his opinion, if there is a constant export, then business funds will be pulled there.

"I traveled around the regions, talked to many agricultural producers, who are engaged in livestock, they say: "we do not need anything, just let us export," - said S. Zhumangarin.

During the conversation, the speaker expressed the hope to open the Russian market this year. He recalled that now the World Health Organization experts are checking. When they declare our country free from FMD, then producers will already be able to supply our products to the Russian market.

"In principle, there is already a preliminary agreement with the Russians. Next, the Minister of Agriculture has to go to Urumqi, then to China, to negotiate with the main customs office. The opening of the Chinese market for Kazakh meat may be like a drop in the ocean for China, all of our exports to China is 1% of Chinese imports in the world. Nevertheless, it is significant for us," said S. Zhumangarin.

The only problem is the capacity of the railroad, says the Deputy Prime Minister. The issues are now trying to be solved bilaterally.

The Minister of Trade noted in an interview an increase in exports of mutton.

"We have considerably increased export of mutton. So far we transport by air to the Persian Gulf countries", - said S. Zhumangarin.
