Eurasian Economic Commission suspends anti-dumping measure on European herbicides

The board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to temporarily suspend the anti-dumping measure on European herbicides. The goods in question are being investigated again due to changed circumstances, World of NAN reports, citing the EEC press service.

"At present the Commission is analyzing the situation on various commodity markets, after which it may decide to suspend a number of anti-dumping measures for six months, depending on the development of the economic situation. The issue of herbicides is considered taking into account the relevant application of the Kazakh side, as well as statements by manufacturers of European plant protection products, who have expressed their intention to continue working in the Eurasian Economic Union," - said Minister of Trade of the EEC Andrey Slepnev.

According to the Minister, the suspension of the anti-dumping duty on herbicides will help to alleviate logistics problems, caused by the disruption of global supply chains, as well as to partially offset the volatility of currencies. Ultimately, the EEC decision will support agricultural producers in the EEU countries and help to ensure food security.

The decision comes into force 10 calendar days after its official publication.
