The Department of Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Commission presented information on the production of agricultural products in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2020. With a production growth of 5.6%, Kazakhstan has been named a leader in agricultural production, the World of NAN reports citing the press service of the EEC.
According to the EEC, production of agricultural products in farms of all categories amounted to $114.4 billion for 2020 and increased by 2.3% compared to January-December 2019.
"The largest increase was observed in Kazakhstan (by 5.6%) and Belarus (by 4.9%), in these countries, the production of agricultural products for the year as a whole amounted to 15.2 billion USD and 9.3 billion USD respectively," the press service states.
Taking a look at the statistics of the Eurasian Economic Union, one can see a 2.3% increase in agricultural production in the EAEU in farms of all categories compared to January-December 2019.
Kazakhstan is also leading in the production of livestock and poultry in live weight. This indicator increased by 4.1% compared to 2019.
In January - December 2020, compared to the same period in 2019 in the production of major livestock products in farms of all categories in the EAEU increased the production of livestock and poultry in live weight by 3.1% and milk - by 3.0%.
It is noted that in Russia and Armenia the production of agricultural products increased by 1.5% to $84.9 billion and $1.7 billion respectively. In Kyrgyzstan, these figures amounted to 3.2 billion U.S. dollars, increasing by 1.1%.
