EAEU is developing an agreement on organic products

EAEU member states are developing a draft agreement on the procedure of recognition within the Eurasian Economic Union of organic products, reports World of NAN, citing the Ministry of Trade.

The document should define the procedure for the recognition within the EAEU of products made (obtained) in member states, organic. To this end, it is supposed to issue certificates confirming the compliance of production (related processing, storage and transportation) of products with the relevant standards.

In this case, the list will be formed on the basis of international and regional standards, and approved by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Mutual recognition of such certificates will ensure the free sale of organic products on the market of the Eurasian Economic Union. This will open the market with a total population of about 185 million people.

The draft agreement is scheduled to be signed by the end of this year.
