The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has reduced the rate of import customs duty on certain types of fish feed from 5 to 3%. The measure will be valid until December 31, 2022, inclusive, World of NAN reports, citing the EEC press service.
“The decision is aimed at increasing the volume of industrial fish farming of the salmon family in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as developing the production of aquaculture products,” said Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation Department.
He also recalled that in accordance with the Recommendation of the Board of the Commission dated April 21, 2020 No. 8 in the EAEU, a set of measures for the development of cooperation in the field of aquaculture was proposed for implementation, affecting the renewal of the material and technical base of fish-breeding organizations, as well as the creation and development of capacities for the production of specialized fish feed.
The decision to reduce the import customs duty rate for certain types of fish feed comes into force on January 2, 2022.
