Agro-industrial product exports are set to increase in East Kazakhstan

Prospects for the development of the agro-industrial complex were discussed at a meeting in East Kazakhstan, World of NAN reports, referring to the press service of the regional Akimat.

Regional Akim Danial Akhmetov emphasized that the region aims to grow export-oriented products and increase productivity. As such, the region plans to process up to one million tons of oilseeds with the construction of three large oil extraction plants

"Diversification of crops will be aimed at highly profitable and oil-bearing crops (sunflower, rapeseed, soybean, corn). Therefore, the work on yield increase, renewal of agricultural machinery park and modernization of production will be continued", - informed the head of the region.

One of the main tasks Akim of the region sees - to increase the area of forage crops sowing. According to him, through the implementation of investment projects and commissioning of water facilities by 2025 the area under forage crops in irrigated lands will be increased by 28 thousand hectares (296 thousand hectares in total).
