Wheat exports to the EU increased 13-fold

Trade between Kazakhstan and the EU in January-February 2022 amounted to six billion dollars, which is 70.9% higher than last year, World of NAN reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Commerce.

Thus, exports from Kazakhstan to the EU countries in January-February 2022 increased by 84.4% to $5.2 billion, while imports from Europe in the same period rose by 14% to $767.5 million.

The growth of exports to the EU countries is explained by the 81.2% increase of oil supplies ($4.6 billion) and 40.4% increase of oil products (up to $94.6 million). Also, exports of wheat increased by 13.2 times (to $31.7 million), ferroalloys by 2.5 times (to $96.3 million), unprocessed aluminum by 2.5 times (to $58.0 million) and natural gas by 4.3 times (to $35.5 million).
