In Kazakhstan, the food inflation rate rose to 20%. At the same time, the government continues to promote the export of food products, which are rampantly becoming more expensive for Kazakhstanis, the World of NAN reports.
In 2022, funds for reimbursing exporting companies increased 2.8 times over last year and amounted to 8.85 billion tenge, according to the Ministry of Trade.
Of all types of costs to be reimbursed, the most popular among exporters remains the delivery of goods by rail. In total 328 applications were approved totalling KZT 7.05 billion or 79.7% of the total amount in this area.
Food producers were particularly active last year. Most of them are represented by enterprises producing oil, flour, bread, pastry, macaroni products, drinking water and drinks, companies-processors of fish and others. In total, exporting companies representing the agro-sector have approved 229 applications for a total amount of 3.7 billion tenge.
The above-mentioned products have become 20-30% more expensive on average over the year. And the state, instead of creating a surplus of these products and stopping the rise in prices, on the contrary, promotes them for export. Thus, products become more expensive, businessmen earn money, and Kazakhstanis tighten their belts.
