French are investing in milk processing in Kazakhstan

Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev met with a delegation of French agricultural companies headed by Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and Foreign Nationals Abroad Olivier Becht, World of NAN reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Yerbol Karashukeyev invited the French businessmen to invest into the seed, plant-growing and food production sectors of Kazakhstan.

According to him, Lactalis and Danon are planning to invest in the milk processing industry in the country. In addition, a joint project with Evolution Company to create a Genetic Center is now under development. It will facilitate improvement of pedigree reproduction of cattle and small cattle at the expense of French breeding programs. This project is implemented jointly with "Assyl Tulik" JSC and will give a new impetus to the development of livestock genetics in Kazakhstan.

French veterinary medicine is a world leader and now the Kazakh holding QazBioPharm is working on a project with Boehringer Ingelheim to produce veterinary vaccines. As a result of the audit, agreements have been reached on the specific stages of the project. The next step will be the export of produced vaccines to the countries of Central Asia and Mongolia.
