A capsule laying ceremony of the country's largest greenhouse complex was held in Keles district of Turkestan region. The project of industrial greenhouses, located on 500 hectares, will be implemented with the support of the Russian company "ECO-culture", World of NAN reports.
According to the press service of the regional akimat, a greenhouse of more than 51 hectares will be built in the first place. When the project is fully implemented, more than 8,000 local residents will be employed.
"The total investment in the new project is 524 billion tenge, with 51.6 billion tenge in the first phase. It is planned to build a 27 hectare greenhouse for 25 billion tenge. Capacity will be 225 thousand tons of tomatoes per year", - was told in the akimat.
At the ceremony, Regional Akim Darkhan Satybaldy stressed the importance of the project, which will promote the development of the region's agro-industrial cluster.
Akim noted that Turkestan is the main region, supplying the population of the country with horticultural products, including tomatoes and cucumbers from greenhouse complexes. On the area of 1569 hectares in the region there are 3366 units of greenhouses, or 71% of the greenhouses of the republic. More than 12 thousand people work here. Of these, 87 hectares are occupied by industrial greenhouses, and 1,482 hectares are agricultural greenhouses.
"Compared to 2015, the volume of investments in this sphere has increased by 7 times, last year it was 74.7 billion tenge. We are honored that Eco-Culture is investing in our country. We are ready to fully support this project. The launch of the project will increase the supply of domestic products to the domestic market of the region, create new jobs and improve the welfare of the population, "- assured Darkhan Satybaldy.
Alexander Rudakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian agro-industrial holding "ECO-culture" also gave a congratulatory speech. He noted that this partnership will give impetus to the development of the agricultural sector.
Rudakov announced that he would try to provide the local population with permanent jobs and high wages. Construction of the first phase of the project, which will be implemented in the village Birlik of Keles district, is scheduled for completion in August 2024. And the whole project will be implemented by 2027.
The project of greenhouse mega complex will be realized with the help of Kazakh company "Green Land Alatau", partner of agro-industrial holding "ECO-culture". Modern greenhouse complexes are planned to be equipped with modern automated climate control system, controlling heating and cooling system, light regime, drip irrigation, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
