Head of the Ministry of Agriculture speaks out about restrictions on grain and flour exports

The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeyev shared his plans for the introduction of restrictions on the export of flour and grain, World of NAN reports referring to inform.kz.

"Now we are working on the issue of imposing restrictions on the export of grain and flour. We are currently analyzing, it will be such volumetric prices, they will not prevent the export of both flour and grain. The Russian Federation imposed a temporary ban on exports of wheat and grain. We are aware of the situation and are keeping it under control. Our grain balance is positive as of this morning, and it will remain so. We have enough for the domestic market for consumption, and there will still be enough for export, at the level of average annual volumes," said Yerbol Karashukeyev in the Majilis after Pravchas.

According to him, exporters do not want to sell grain to the domestic market and are waiting for prices to go up. At the same time grain prices in the world are constantly rising. Therefore, there is some inconsistency between flour processors and grain producers.

"There will be an appropriate restriction on exports, and they will have to direct a certain part to the domestic market. As a last resort, there are also flour stocks in the Food Corporation. A deficit of grain is impossible due to the positive balance," concluded the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
