This proposal was voiced by Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Trade and Market Regulation Alireza Peyman-Pak at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, World of NAN reports.
Iranian investors and producers are ready to invest in the construction of a plant for the production of dairy products, processing of agricultural products and others. Serik Zhumangarin welcomed the decision of Iranian colleagues, saying that he will pass all proposals to Kazakhstani business for consideration.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Trade, the parties also discussed a joint roadmap of projects aimed at increasing mutual trade turnover to $3 billion. These projects cover almost all sectors, but the main pool, about $1 billion, is made up of projects in the agricultural sector.
Kazakhstan's agricultural products are very popular with Iranian consumers. Today Kazakhstan enterprises regularly supply domestic products to the Iranian market. The main export goods to Iran are traditionally wheat, barley, sunflower oil, flax seeds. Fresh vegetables and fruits prevail among import supplies. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran for 2022 amounted to $528 million, increasing by 19.8% compared to the previous year.
The meeting between Serik Zhumangarin and Alireza Peyman-Pak took place following the results of the Kazakhstan-Iran business forum held in Astana on June 27, 2023. The business platform brought together over 100 representatives of large and medium-sized companies from Kazakhstan and Iran. Entrepreneurs specializing in the supply of agricultural goods, food products, tourism services and investments held bilateral negotiations in B2B format.
