From the agriculture to the Majilis. Who contends for MP?

The election race of candidates to the Majilis started in the country. Among those who are competing for the deputy's seat are well-known personalities from the agricultural sector as well. World of NAN has taken a look at the list of candidates.

The Auyl party, which positions itself as a protector of the interests of farmers and villagers, has nominated a total of 34 candidates. Of these, 25 are on party lists and 9 on the majoritarian system.

Among those running on behalf of the party is Zhiguli Dairabayev, chairman of the Association of Farmers of Kazakhstan. Many Kazakhs who are not interested in agriculture heard about him for the first time during his participation in the presidential election. However, despite jokes and memes on the Internet, he managed to beat many of his competitors and take third place by the number of votes.

The former deputy of the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan is also ready to work for the good of New Kazakhstan - to raise the village, to convey the aspirations of ordinary farmers to the authorities. Dairabayev is the Chairman of the Committee of Agroindustrial Complex of the Presidium of NCE Atameken.

It is an interesting fact that former presidential candidate Karakat Abden is also listed in the race from Auyl party. Incidentally, according to our observations, she is in no way involved with the farming industry.

Anas Bakkozhayev, deputy chairman of Auyl party, is also on the party list. Last year, Bakkozhayev was appointed chairman of the public council on the development of the agro-industrial complex under the Ministry of Agriculture.

The candidate is a graduate of Kazakh State Agrarian University. In different years he worked in the national holding KazAgro, the Scientific and Innovative Center of Livestock Breeding. There was a period of work in the Ministry of Agriculture. He was Chairman of the Board at Asyl Tulik JSC and worked at the Center of Agrocompetences at Atameken Research and Production Enterprise.

Toleutai Rakhimbekov, a politician, is running under the majoritarian system. He is the only candidate with experience of working in high positions in the Ministry of Agriculture. In particular, T. Rakhimbekov was Vice-Minister of Agriculture and Advisor to the Minister. He has scientific titles, doctor of economic sciences. He is the author of a dissertation on the topic "Formation and development of the processing subsector of the agroindustrial complex of Kazakhstan. He began his career as a junior researcher, postgraduate of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, which he himself graduated from. He knows the problems of the agroindustrial complex firsthand. He participated in the 2019 Presidential elections from the "Auyl" party.

Yerbol Abdraimov, the founder of the specialized trading platform maltabu.kz, was also nominated as a candidate by the majoritarian system. The site is very popular among farmers who sell their livestock on the site and find workers for their farms. The founder of the site believes that conditions should be created for farmers to sell their products, be it livestock or grain.

And perhaps the most famous of the applicants in the agrarian environment is Aidarbek Khodzhanazarov, who has practical experience in agriculture. The head of one of the country's large and successful agricultural holdings "Olzha Agro" became the chairman of the new party Respublica.

Entering the political arena, the farmer intends to raise not only agricultural and rural problems, but also social issues of the society. A. Khodzhanazarov shares his knowledge and experience on his channel "Agrospasatel", he gets invited as a practicing expert with a new perspective on agriculture at seminars and conferences on different levels.

To recall, the elections to the Majilis are scheduled for March 19.
