Kazakhstan will be fully self-sufficient in dairy products by 2024

The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeyev discussed cooperation in the sphere of dairy cattle breeding with Aidan Tynan, an independent member of the Qatari company Baladna Food Industries, World of NAN reports referring to the press service of the Ministry.

Development of dairy cattle breeding is one of the priorities of the Concept of National Project of Agroindustrial Complex Development in the RK. At the present time it is planned to introduce 169 dairy farms for 106,8 thousand heads and total production capacity of 597,7 thousand tons of milk per year in period from 2021 to 2025.

"The commissioning of additional capacities of dairy farms will make it possible to provide the domestic market with domestic dairy products by 100% by the end of 2024, which will also increase the volume of exports of dairy products outside the country," - said the agricultural department. 

The inflow of foreign investments in this sector will contribute to its systematic development. Investors are provided with a full range of support services according to the "one window" principle as well as monitor in the post-investment period which allows working with each investor and project on a point-by-point basis at all levels.

"The Republic of Kazakhstan has a huge potential for profitable investment. We will do our best to create appropriate conditions for investors, to guarantee investments, to ensure their safety and minimize various risks," the Minister said.

In turn Aidan Tynan told about the activities of Baladna Food Industries and further plans for development, noting that the consumption of milk in the future will increase. "Kazakhstan has a unique opportunity to become an exporter of milk and dairy products in Southeast Asia," - said Aidan Tynan. 

He also told the minister about the meetings held with entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, where a number of investment projects were presented. These include the construction of a cheese plant in Almaty with a capacity of 150 tons of raw materials per day and creation of over 250 high-skilled jobs. Another investment project is construction of eight dairy farms for production of raw cow's milk in Kostanay region, with total capacity of 106 thousand tons of products a year.

As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the results of negotiations and agreed to continue cooperation in all aspects.
