К. Tokayev suggested Arab countries to import more agricultural products from Kazakhstan

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the first Summit "Central Asia + Gulf Cooperation Council of Arab States", reports World of NAN with reference to Akorda.

According to the head of state, Kazakhstan has every opportunity to significantly increase mutual trade turnover. First of all, Kazakhstan is interested in increasing the volume and diversifying the structure of export supplies of agro-industrial goods to Arab countries.

"Our country is among the world's ten largest producers of wheat and flour. The experience and capabilities of Arab partners in the production, processing and certification of "organic" and "halal" products are highly demanded. In this context, we consider it necessary to continue work on synchronization of standards, technical regulation and certification systems," the president said.

According to him, all these tasks can be effectively implemented by countries using the potential of the Islamic Food Security Organization. In order to strengthen global food security, Mr. Tokayev proposed to create a mechanism of meetings of ministers of agriculture to expand cooperation in this area.
