What weather awaits farmers this season

Scientists and experts have made short- and long-term forecasts on climatic conditions for farmers, as well as given their recommendations, World of NAN reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture.

May is expected to be hot, according to the forecast of the Kazgidromet RSE. Precipitation in most of the country is about normal, in the extreme west of the country is expected to be more than average climatic. Concerns are caused by weather conditions in Kyzylorda region, where atmospheric drought is expected already in May.

According to forecasts of meteorologists, June is expected to be hot, and together with the deficit of precipitation there are risks of drought. In July, the weather for the main grain-growing regions is expected to be generally favourable. The amount of precipitation in July is expected to be about normal in most of the territory of the country, more than normal - in North-Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Akmola regions, in most of Kostanay region, in the extreme north of Karaganda region, less than normal - in the south-western and southern half of Kazakhstan.

According to experts, according to the preliminary forecast, excessive precipitation is not expected in August and September.

The Ministry of Agriculture recommends farmers to carry out mandatory moisture closure in the fields, which allows plants to withstand long periods without precipitation. Due to the forecast of possible rainfall deficit this year, livestock farmers need to stock up on fodder.

Kanat Akshalov, an agricultural scientist from the A.I. In order to avoid water erosion, he recommends to cultivate fields at a slope across the direction of the slope.
