The first meeting of the Kazakh-Vietnamese Sub-Committee on Agricultural Cooperation was held in the city of Hanoi. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Vietnamese cooperation in the agro-industrial sector and exchanged views on opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, World of NAN reports.
"The Kazakh delegation was represented by Vice Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Taszhurekov. In particular, Kazakhstan and Vietnam agreed to contribute to the early signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, as well as to exchange veterinary and phytosanitary requirements for the export/import of goods and systems of control over the safety of manufactured products," the Agriculture Ministry said.
As part of a visit to Hanoi, the Kazakh delegation visited the head office of the largest company Thai Binh Seed, specializing in the cultivation of advanced varieties of rice.
At a meeting with CEO Trần Mạnh Báo raised the issue of cooperation between research institutes of Kazakhstan and Vietnam on the cultivation of rice and maize, experimental development of innovative varieties of these crops in the climate zone of Kazakhstan.
According to the press service, under the established cooperation, the Vietnamese company transferred 6 varieties of rice, suitable for cultivation in the Kyzylorda region, taking into account the properties of soil and climatic zone.
