Kazakhstan is not ready to transport a large volume of grain

Bakytbek Kadirov, Chairman of the Logistics and Transportation Committee, a member of the Presidium of the Atameken NCE, said that the country's infrastructure is not ready to transport the high grain harvest for export and within the country, reports World of NAN.

‘If we don't start planning transport for September-October now to reduce the load on elevators and ensure timely exports to Uzbekistan and China, then in August the burden of commercial coal delivery will fall on the regions. We have time until 25 July to prevent this. If government agencies do not take measures, we will face serious problems in September,’ Kadirov emphasized.

In his opinion, the grain collapse is the result of unregulated activity of state bodies, lack of a single regulatory document and a clearly structured system of transport planning. There is also a financial interest of the national company in transit transport revenues to the detriment of national exports.

‘This collapse can be prevented if we start taking measures right now and harmonize plans. Elevators should unload in advance to prepare for the current situation. But we, due to transient residuals and poor coordination of construction and installation works, are again facing these problems,’ the expert said.

NCE ‘Atameken’ called on the government to revise plans in the logistics sector, strengthen the responsibility of interested agencies and provide real support for exports.
