Kazakhstan will expand the transit route to China

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the summit of heads of states "Central Asia - China" in the video conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries of Central Asia and China, World of NAN reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, it is necessary to make vigorous efforts to further increase trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

"Kazakhstan is able to increase exports to China on 135 items, including organic agricultural products and food, by more than one billion dollars. In this regard, to develop joint approaches on trade and transport interconnectivity, I propose to launch the mechanism of ministerial consultations "Central Asia - China", - said the Head of State.

The head of state also identified the diversification of transit-transport routes and the introduction of integrated logistics solutions, including through the launch of new overland corridors as a priority task.

"Kazakhstan plans to invest $20 billion for these purposes until 2025, which will certainly expand the transit flows from China, as well as meet the growing needs of the countries of the region," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
