Kazakh exporters of wheat earned double earnings

At the end of the first quarter of this year, Kazakhstan exported 2 million tons of wheat and meslin for $592.3 million. In volume terms, growth was 64%, in monetary terms, 2.1 times, reports World of NAN, referring to Energyprom.kz.

The CIS countries remained the main buyers. Uzbekistan bought 874,100 tons, Tajikistan 175,800 tons and Turkmenistan 149,500 tons. Iran also imported 358,400 tonnes, Afghanistan - 227,400 tonnes and Italy - 110,100 tonnes.

Wheat export prices rose by 12.1% YTD by 32.1% over the year. Particularly, in monthly dynamics, the prices for the CIS countries have increased by 7.9%, for other countries - by 11.8%; in annual dynamics, the prices for the CIS countries have grown by - 34.7%, for others - by - 23.7%.

In April of this year, the average price of wheat from producers amounted to 123.7 thousand tg per ton. A ton of durum wheat cost 188.4 thousand tenge.

This year, according to preliminary forecasts of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, the harvest will be average - 12.5-13 million tons of wheat. For Kazakhstan, this is a standard level, allowing to export almost half of it without damage to itself.
