Kazakhstani food producers signed export contracts worth $22.8 million following a trade and economic mission to Urumqi, World of NAN reported, citing the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by over 42 Kazakhstani producers of food products, including oil and fat, meat, pasta and confectionery products, ice cream, honey, and alcoholic beverages. Chinese companies showed significant interest in Kazakhstani producers, which led to preliminary agreements on further co-operation.
Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev noted that cooperation with China is an important factor for sustainable economic development of Kazakhstan. In 2023, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China increased by 30% to $31.5 bln, while exports from Kazakhstan to China increased by 10% to $14.7 bln.
