Container hub to be created on the basis of "Morport Aktau"

It is planned to create a container hub for development of cargo transportation along Trans-Caspian international transport route on the basis of the special economic zone "Morport Aktau", reports World of NAN referring to MIID.

There are plans to attract global container operators such as PSA Group, Maersk, MSC as investors.

Currently, 18 projects have been implemented on the territory of the free economic zone, while 25 projects are underway. In general, the work of the economic zone is aimed at developing the oil and petrochemical industry, the construction industry, ports and the tourism industry.

Since the establishment of the special economic zone 1720 permanent jobs have been created. Moreover, for 19 years of work on projects on the territory of SEZ 260.7 billion tenge were invested, including foreign investments amounted to 168 billion tenge.

Incidentally, the territory of SEZ "Morport Aktau" has all conditions for implementation of projects, all necessary infrastructure is available, tax and customs preferences are provided, projects are supported and monitored.
