Livestock lending is being launched for Almaty farmers

 The Almaty region intends to develop livestock breeding. For this purpose it is planned to provide about 4 billion tenge. For the first time livestock lending program will start in the region, reports World of NAN.

As regional Akimat informed, realization of project on development of tribal cattle breeding is planned through "Social-entrepreneurial corporation "Konayev". At a recent meeting with the farmers, the head of the region Marat Sultangaziyev noticed that "SEC" began to function as an agro-bank.

"The newly created SEC today performs the functions of a bank. The first project is the "Program of development of pedigree cattle breeding in the region." As expected, 4 billion tenge will be allocated for capitalization", - said the Akim.

He recalled that the region is launching a project on breeding livestock breeds through the mechanisms of leasing. Farmers will be able to obtain breeding stock through a loan at 2.5% for 5 years.

As Marat Sultangaziyev noted, Kyrgyzstan is interested in importing Kazakh pedigree cattle and this direction needs support of domestic farmers, as there are prospects, but the capabilities of the domestic market are still limited.

"If everything will be as planned, we will start to implement a program to improve the breed from this year. The most important issue in agriculture is to increase productivity in crop and livestock production. It is impossible to do without improving the breed, "- said Marat Sultangaziyev.

Along with this, the SEC has begun to develop technologies for the economical use of water to solve the problem of water scarcity in the region.

"In Uygur district it is planned to build 4 dams, in remote areas of the region - 2 dams and 5 operating dams will be completely cleaned", - said the Akim of the region.

Also, the Akim stated that starting next year the region's veterinarians will receive a 30% increase in salaries from the local budget.
