The largest vegetable storage facility will be launched in Turkestan region

Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin and Akim of Turkestan region Darhan Satybaldy took part in the ceremony of laying the capsule of a modern vegetable storage facility, World of NAN reports with reference to the Government.

The project is implemented by Turkestan Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation. The project partner is M-Adal LLP. The area of the facility is 3264 m² and it is planned to store about 4 thousand tons of vegetables per year.

The vegetable storage facility will be equipped with nine large refrigerated chambers. The tentative completion date is the first half of 2024.

The region is the main supplier of fruit and vegetable products in the country. There are 1,569 hectares of greenhouses in the Turkestan region, with a total of 3,366 complexes or 71% of all greenhouse farms in the country.

Moreover, their number in Kazakhstan is growing. According to the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of MTI RK, the inspection bodies have accepted 692 applications, 509 certificates have been issued, about 100 are in the works. The new vegetable storage facility will make it possible to preserve the harvest.
