Where to export agricultural products according to the EEC

At the meeting of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission the recommendation "On increasing the export potential of agricultural products and foodstuffs of the EAEU member states" was adopted, World of NAN reports with reference to the EEC.

Promising goods and markets for exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union have been identified on the basis of methodological approaches. The main trading partners have been selected, including those with which the EAEU is developing or plans to develop cooperation within the framework of free trade zones: the countries of the Persian Gulf, Southeast Asia and others. A total of 55 countries were identified in the recommendation of the EEC Collegium.

The analysis carried out by the Commission's experts showed the main goods of the member states with the best conditions of access to the markets of third countries.

For example, for the supply of meat and meat products the most promising directions are Vietnam, Qatar, China, UAE, Uzbekistan; fish and crustaceans - Egypt, China, Thailand; dairy products - Vietnam, Egypt, Israel, China, Oman, Saudi Arabia; cereals - China, Jordan, UAE, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, etc.; fats and vegetable oils - Egypt, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and others.

The total imports by selected commodity items of the 55 countries considered are estimated at USD 322.2 billion, while the share of supplies of the EAEU states to the markets of such third countries is only 5.3% (USD 17.1 billion), which indicates a significant potential for increasing the exports of member states.
