He bought rice from himself for 100 million tenge

The Prosecutor's Office of Kyzylorda region in the course of the inspection of the activities of JSC "Social and Business Corporation" Baikonur" revealed embezzlement of public funds for 100 million tenge, World of NAN reports with reference to the agency.

In March 2018, Agro Holding Baikonyr LLP (a subsidiary of SEC) entered into an agreement to purchase 2,400 tons of rice grain from Mega Agro LLP for the amount of 120 million tenge. The funds were transferred in full. However, the supplier did not fulfill his obligations and did not deliver the required volume of rice. And the remaining 101 million tenge was spent on its own needs.

But the most interesting thing is that during this period Espanov M was the head of these 2 LLPs. Thus, he bought rice from himself and stole the state budget funds.

The conman confessed his guilt in full and the criminal case was sent to court. By the sentence of Jalagash district court on October 3, 2023 M. Espanov was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of restricted freedom (the sentence came into force).

The damage caused to the state in the amount of 101 million tenge was fully compensated.
