Concessional loans will be directed to the dairy industry

The pool of projects selected by akimats for consideration for inclusion in the Big Project was discussed at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, World of NAN reports referring to the government.

The Big Project is a replication of the North-Kazakhstan region's experience on preferential financing of agricultural enterprises. Due to this mechanism 21 dairy farms were built in North Kazakhstan in 2 years. As a result today the North-Kazakhstan region produced about 648 thousand tons of milk or 10,3% of production in the country.

The goals of the Big Project are dairy farms (from 400 animals), vegetable storage facilities (from 1000 tons), meat poultry farms (from 5000 tons of meat a year) as well as fish farming projects.

The country has approved a budget loan of KZT100 billion for the programme's implementation. For regulatory enforcement of the program the Ministry of Agriculture has developed a draft order to approve the terms and conditions of the loan. It is a loan of up to 10 years through an attorney (agent) at 2.5%, with a maximum of 5 billion tenge and a grace period of 24 months on the principal debt.

"Akimats of 20 regions submitted projects totaling 415.7 billion tenge, but the budget approved the allocation of 100 billion tenge. Based on this we suggest this year to consider allocation of allocated funds for construction of industrial dairy farms. In subsequent years, step by step for others", - said Rustem Kurmanov, Vice-Minister of Agriculture.

According to the results of the meeting, S. Zhumangarin instructed the Ministry of Agriculture together with the akimats once again to review the pool of projects for the selection of the most ready for implementation and having a certain infrastructure.
