The limit on the ownership of agricultural land has been set by the state

At an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Agriculture, Vice-Minister Abulkhair Tamabek spoke about legislative changes in land use, reports World of NAN.

On January 11 this year, the government approved a draft decree to approve the maximum size of agricultural land plots, which can be held by sole proprietorship.

"In the republic, depending on natural and climatic conditions, the maximum size of agricultural land for peasant farms and household farms is set at 35 thousand hectares, for legal entities - 51 thousand hectares," said Abulkhair Tamabek.

Also the work on improvement of state control over use of land continues. Today a draft law was developed to amend the Code on Administrative Offences on issues of state control over land use.

"The Code provides for the definition of bodies exercising control over the use of land, increasing the fines imposed by state inspectors, as well as establishing the liability of officials of Akimats for failure to conduct timely auctions and tenders for land", - added the Vice-Minister.

At the moment the bill is under consideration by the Senate.
