The country's Ministry of Agriculture reported that the number of brucellosis outbreaks has decreased by 59% this year. 18.1 million heads of farm animals have been tested in Kazakhstan since the beginning of this year. According to the results of the tests, brucellosis was detected in 17.5 thousand heads. At the same time in some regions, in particular in Kostanai region, gross violations in the work of veterinary services were revealed, reports World of NAN.
"In general, the number of brucellosis foci from January to June decreased by 59% compared to the same period last year. Out of 44 unsafe areas, 14 have been rehabilitated, while the appropriate measures are ongoing in the rest. To date, the epizootic situation is stable and is under control of the veterinary service of Kazakhstan," - was stated in a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture.
On the territory of Kostanai region since the beginning of 2023, 11 unsafe sites for brucellosis have been registered, 6 of which have already got rid of this status. In unsafe areas 16 employees and 4 units of special equipment of the republican anti-epizootic detachment were involved. The analysis showed the presence of the disease in 1.8 thousand cattle. The infected livestock was sent for slaughter, in accordance with veterinary and sanitary rules.
"At the same time, during the inspection of the activities of the veterinary service of the Akimat of Kostanai region gross violations of the norms and requirements of veterinary legislation were revealed. In particular, in the inventories of preventive measures found data of non-existent people. Local specialists did not fully cover farm animals with diagnostic tests for brucellosis," - said the Ministry of Agriculture.
And added that for all identified violations veterinary specialists of rural and district levels were brought to administrative responsibility and imposed a fine totaling 698.6 thousand tenge.
Two unsafe areas were also registered in Kyzylorda region. Employees of the territorial inspection Committee of Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture conducted an inspection of the activities of the veterinary service of the Akimat and this region. As a result, a fine totaling 215.6 thousand tenge was imposed for the revealed violations.
