A ministerial conference of the CIS member states was held within the framework of the KazAgro/KazFarm-2023 international agricultural exhibitions, World of NAN reports.
The conference was attended by representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Liaison and Partnership Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Kazakhstan.
Current problems and global challenges in agriculture of CIS countries were discussed at the level of ministries. And the problems are numerous: rising temperatures, irrigation water shortages, logistical congestion, staff shortages, political and economic instability.
"In 2023, Kazakhstan has revised the main approaches to the management of the agriculture industry. Thus, the emphasis will be placed on accelerated diversification of agricultural production, stimulating the introduction of agro-technologies, including water-saving ones, updating agricultural machinery, increasing the genetic potential of farm animals, developing the processing of agricultural products, including production with high redistribution", - shared the strategy of Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov.
Within the framework of the meeting of the ministries, a document confirming interaction and cooperation in the agricultural sector of the CIS countries was signed. In addition, an operational headquarters was established within the framework of which the work aimed at ensuring food security will be carried out.
