As of today, 10.3 million hectares of crops have been harvested in Kazakhstan, which is 59.9% of the planned area, World of NAN reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Of the harvested crop, 9.5 million crops have been threshed, including 6.9 million tons of wheat. The bad weather affected the quality of the harvest, but the Agriculture Ministry does not give exact data on the quality.
The expected grain harvest will be enough to fully supply Kazakhstan with bread, flour and pasta. The country has a large volume of high-quality grain from last year's harvest. Export potential due to decrease in yields will decrease, but the country will keep its positions in traditional export markets.
Prodkorporatsiya has started examination of the available grain stocks for their suitability for use as seeds. The grain that will meet the parameters will be stored separately. Such grain will be released to farmers at the request of regions as a commodity credit during sowing works. In turn, 695.4 thousand tons or 35% of the plan of 1.9 million tons of grain seeds have been filled.
