The Ministry of Trade claims that food prices are not rising

Over the past week, the average price index for social products remained at zero, for the third week in a row. The downward trend in the prices of buckwheat, sunflower oil and onions continues, World of NAN reports citing the Ministry of Trade.

Since the beginning of the year and up to March 26, the average price growth index for socially important food products (SIFP) was 0.7%.

"In three regions, the price index decreased by 0.1%. These are the cities of Astana, Shymkent, Turkestan region. Zero price growth was shown by eight regions - Almaty, Aktobe, Atyrau, Akmola, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, East-Kazakhstan, North-Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Zhetysu regions", - said Vice-Minister of Trade Aizhan Bizhanova.

As for the work of regional commissions, since the beginning of the year, the regions have held 333 meetings, within the framework of which 418 unproductive intermediaries and instances of exceeding the trade markup were identified.
